title-tape.jpg
Floral tape is a green tape that is great to wrap around stems to cover wire, or to hold together a hand tied bouquet. It is stretched just before one uses it, this activates the tape and makes it stick to itself. Fear not, it doesn't get sticky to anything but itself. Florist tape comes in 2 roll packs for $3. Each roll is half an inch wide by 30 yards long. Most brides use 2-4 rolls (1-2 packs). If you will have an assembly line of people working, you can greatly increase the speed by giving each person their own roll. A large whip can also speed up the process.

Floral wire is used as a design aid in making corsages and boutonnieres. It is also used as an anti wilt insurance policy on flowers. Though certainly not necessary, some people just like the added security! We carry 22 gauge wire, 18 inches long in bundles of 25 wires.

title-oasis.jpg
Oasis floral foam design bricks are used as a water source and a design aid. You simply place the brick in water, let it soak, then insert the stems of flowers into the brick. One tip to keep in mind is that if you push a flower in too deep, do not just pull it up. That will put an air gap between the stem end and the oasis and the flower will wilt. If you push a stem in too far, simply pull out the stem and start again in a new spot. Each brick measures 3 inches by 4 inches by 9 inches.

Corsage pins are also know as pearl pins. Most often used to pin on corsages and boutonnieres but also used with stephanotis and handtied bouquets. With the stephanotis, they are inserted into the center of the flower, to cover the extender pic inside. Corsage pins are also used to pin ribbons onto handtied bouquets. They come in boxes of 144.

title-strippers.jpg
Stem strippers are used to quickly strip the stem of most flowers. With roses, they also strip the thorns off. It is important to damage the stem as little as possible, so do not scrape the stem raw. A little practice and you will be stripping like a pro!

title-wrist.jpg
Wrist corsage backs also know as wristlets are used to make wrist corsages. Essentially one makes a corsage, then places it on the backing. There are two metal tabs that bend down onto the corsage, and hold the premade corsage in place. The whole unit is then placed on the wrist. Pictured at right with a US quarter. They are sold individually
